Suggest Treatment For Severe Eczema

My son 2.8 years old and has severe eczema. We have tried the alternative medicines like Homeopathy and Ayurveda but nothing worked for him. His allergy test report says he is highly allergic to dust mites (rating 6). He also has moderate level milk and peanut allergy. Yesterday we consulted a dermatologist and he prescribed Flutivate which is a steroid cream. How harmful are these. Should I be worrying about the side effects? Please Help.
