Hello, I began a vigorous work-out routine last week and did it for 4 days in a row. I have not exercised for 3 days and just 2 days ago, I began getting this tight, swelling feeling in my left upper front thigh. The feeling is coming from the inside and does not feel like a sore muscle at all. Its a weird feeling when I am standing or walking, as of my thigh is filling up with water or something. It starts to feel so swollen as if it s going to burst if I keep standing on it. I have never felt this feeling before and I am worried it may be a blood clot or something like that. It has been a long time since I have worked out and when I started my workout routine last week, it mostly involved squats, jumping jacks and leg lifts. Also, for these past 3 days I have woken up with a headache that gets gradually worse if I don t take Excedrin and once in a while a sudden sharp pain in my head, right inside my temple. I have rested so not to ajetate my leg for 3 to 4 days now and it is not letting up. Even when I lay down I feel the tightness coming from the inside. I tried stretching too. Is this serious enough. I have 3 kids and I am 30 years old. I am a smoker as well. I drink a lot of water and I would say my diet is so-so, I don t eat a lot of salty foods only sweets at times. My thigh does not look visibly swollen and has not changed color but the tightness gets worse even when I am sitting. My upper front thigh.. I am worried and want to get back to my work-out routine because other than this in my thigh, I feel fine and I am not sore anywhere else at all. It s NOT muscle soreness. I know what that feels like. This is something else and it s lasted for 3 days now.
