What Are The Blotchy Spots On The Ankle?

Hi, recently I developed darks blotchy patches on the inside of my leg about 5 long going toward the ankle. It doesn t really itch but burns below the surface off & on throughout the day. I have been in a shoe boot since the 1st wk of June do to a bad foot injury 7-8 yrs ago. They think I may have tarsal tunnel. I m wondering what these spots could be? They start out as a red small spot, turns dark brown, & spreads slowly, all straight in a row down on the nerve area of which I am having pain in my foot/ankle
