What Are The Symptoms Of Menopause?

Hi doctor ,
Since one and a half years , my mother had irregular periods .So, after her period stops it comes back after four days . Also , she has pain in the joints and stiffness in the knees . And she bleeds after any long activity such as standing for a long time and walking for a long distance and lifting any heavy thing . Her periods are as usual and not painful in an unusual way, but after some periods she has vaginal pain . She is 46 years old and her last pregnancy was four years ago and it was an normal abortion . First she thought it was symptoms of menopause but after she went to her doctor she prescribed (PROGYLUTON) for her and said that if the bleeding doesn't stop that would cause problems and she will have to remove her uterus .Her tests were normal except for her sonar it showed three empty sacs on the left side of the uterus and three other empty sacs on the right side of her uterus .
I hope you can explain what is happening , I'm really worried ..
