What Cause A Red Sore Below The Left Jaw?

Hi there. I suspect my wife is abusing drugs. I think she may be injecting something into her neck. I see a a small red sore just below her left jaw close ti the jugular. It has been there for months now. It is approx. 1/2 to 1/3 the size of a dime. Any ideas??
