What Causes Bleeding And Cramp After Cervix Cauterisation?

I attend the gyn clinic on Thursday and had part of my cervix cauterised with silver nitrate (due to erosion caused by taking the contraceptive pill) I experienced cramps and bleeding after the procedure - is this normal? I'm 32, 5ft1, 55kg and keep in good health otherwise
