What Causes Bruising And Swelling In Labia Area?

A few days ago, I woke up and felt bruised and swollen in my labia area. It was not really painful, but was very uncomfortable when I was sitting. That afternoon, when going to the restroom, I noticed a lump in my outer labia. I have taken it easy for the last few days and it seems to have gone down, but it is still the size of a very small egg. It started out larger and even was visible. Now, you cannot see it, just feel it. I am 33 years old. I am 5'10", 140 pounds. I work out a lot, but had taken about a week break and just worked out lifting and cardio the night before I felt uncomfortable. Could this be a hernia, and should I see a doctor or wait for it to go down on it's own.
