What Causes Bubbling Sensation With Pain Under The Rib Cage?

hello, for the past 4 days i have been having a sort of bubbling sensation with mild to low pain exactly under the rib cage on the right side, as far as i have learned ( second year med student) theoreticly the liver doesnt hurt by itself so i was wondering if it would be a gall bladder problem or pain irradiating from a possible apendicitis . excuse the bad english not a native english speaker .
