What Causes Bulging Lumps In The Arm With Superficial Veins?

My armpit has been tender for 2 days and yesterday I felt lumps that have grown. Spots are red and some lumps are bulging the skin. It hurts to palpate or to lift my arm up/stretch. I just noticed the superficial veins on my upper inner bicep are now purple. Are swollen lymph nodes blocking my venous return?! I'm a 26 year old white male 5'9" 143lbs and no medical conditions or history.
