What Causes Clear Discharge With Blood During Periods?

I'm 27 yrs old and I've always had a regular menstrual cycle. But this time I had spotting for the last 3 days then ny period. Usually my periods are heavy then light. There is clear discharge as well with the blood. It doesn't have the usual dark clumps. What is going on with me?
