What Causes Continous Bleeding After First Spinal Epidral?

im 34 and had my first spinal epidral on the 10th of may ,which hasnt worked but when my next period was due it has not stopped wich has been 3 weeks now and this has never happened to me before and its still on going so is it just a side affect or do i need to worry
