What Causes Cut On Penis Shaft?

about 2 weeks ago I had what looked like a cut on the shaft of the penis near the top - I have now developed quite a few like cuts - all around the top of the shaft - I have not had intercourse for quite sometime - so these are not related to sex - what could they be I am 61 years old
