What Causes Delayed Periods In Spite Of Taking Contraceptives?

Hi,

I am 28 year old woman, in good health condition. I stopped taking birth control pills 5 months ago but we've been using condoms instead. Since last 2 months my periods have been regular. This month my periods are a week late already. I have to start a trek tomorrow. Can I start taking pills now?
