What Causes Delayed Periods?

Good day Doc, please i have a question for you. Today is the 32nd day of my cycle and i am yet to see my menses. What do you feel went wrong? Although, earlier this month a dear friend of mine was diagnosed with a terminal disease which made me very upset and worried. Because i chart my body signs, i also discovered that the mucus signs for this cycle were delayed....is this a possible reason??
