What Causes Delayed Periods?

I was soposed to start my period the 17th I'm 20 days late, I took two pregnancy test they were both negative, I have been bloated, constipated, my lower back has been hurting ever now and then, but I haven't been feeling sick and my breast are fine. My boyfriend and I have had unprotected sex but if I was pregnant wouldn't the test come back positive? it was a cheap test from dollargeneral I'm freaking out. I don't know what's wrong!
