What Causes Early Periods With Heavy Bleeding?

My wife who delivered baby by ceassarin in June but the child could not survive due dermographic hernia.During the pregenency, my wife was suffering from thyriod problem for which she was taking Thyronorm.However after child birth, she agains faced increased thyroid and again she began to take Thyronorm.Recently she experienced preponed periods which was by 8 days before the normal date. After 5 days of periods she again began to bleed profusely after seven days. The same problem she exeperienced once before geeting pregrency. Now we would like to know what exactly is the cause and what is the treatement and if any particular tests are required, plz let us know. thanks
