What Causes Early Periods?

hI,

i am bleeding one week before expected period. I am on tri cyclen lo and have been for 10months. I usually have my period on placebo week, but not this time. I am wondering what is going on and if i am still protected even tho im irregular this month? will i still be protected on placebo week as well?
