What Causes Heavy Periods With Blood Clots After C Section?

I had a c section 5 months ago and have had heavy periods since. On Tues I lost a huge black clot, I have also been loosing small black bits since my c section. last night I lost another large clot. Is this normal? I did have a wound infection twice too
