What Causes Irregular Periods After Getting Implanon?

I had implanon put in 8 months ago, I bled for 2 months then had regular periods then none for 4 months then had a huge period 1 month ago, 2 weeks later another period and yesterday a small amount of brown blood and today small dark clots? What could this be?
