What Causes Little Cuts In Vagina?

I am 44-years-old. I have been getting little cuts along my labia minora and sometimes above my clitoris. I thought maybe it had to do with my estrogen level (perimenopausal) but my doctor says my estrogen level should be adequate until I actually reach menopause. I had it tested recently and it was 138 (at day 10 of my cycle). It is very frustrating because when I have these cuts (which aren't always caused by sex), I don't want to have sex or oral sex as it stings. Any ideas or solutions?
