What Causes Loss Of Grip In The Fingers?

I used to have beautiful handwriting and loved to write letters. For the past few years, I've been having problems holding a pen. I've tried all kinds of pens..skinny, fat..nothing works...it's like my fingers don't want to hold the pen and my handwriting is getting worse. What is causing this and can it be fixed?
