What Causes Loss Of Sensation In Penis Head While Having Intercourse?

My boyfriend and I were having sex a few days ago and the head of his penis became very sensitive then he lost all sensation in the head of his penis. It has been two days and the feeling has not come back. Is this normal? How long until the feeling will come back? Is there anything that can be done to speed up the regaining of feeling?
