What Causes Metallic Taste In The Mouth And Heavy Periods With Swollen Breasts?

I have been getting a metallic taste in my mouth for the last few days. I'm on day 2 of my period, which was on time, but heavier then ever before. My breasts are swollen and they hurt, more then usual and I'm an emotional mess. Is this just a really bad period?
