What Causes Not A Regular Period But With Brown Discharge And Mild Cramps?

So i had what seemed to be my period two weeks ago. Although it wasn't like my normal period i left it alone.
And for the past two days i had a brown discharge like spot with very mild cramps. I do have an iud however. I took a pregnancy test that showed negative. Can there be something wrong?
