What Causes Numbness On Inner Side Of Leg And Calf Muscle?

I am 71 years old in good health with good medical history. I am 5 7 tall and weigh 150lbs. One year ago, I got ligamentitis of both feet all of a sudden while I was exercising in my yard. I am very healthy and used to run a lotaround my property (close to 1 acre land). I have reasons to believe that some body wanted me to stop showing off my ability to run in the closed community and that someone used a teaser or other device used for animals. It took 1 full year for my foot to get back to normal naturally without any special treatment. But for the last one month, however, the inner side of the right ankle seem to get numb; at least the skin is getting number every week and feels that the numbness is slowly moving up the inner side my leg and calf muscle. I will appreciate if you could shed some light on this condition. Does it need a Dr s appointment or can some cream or ointment be used to remedy the condition?
