What Causes Red Itchy Bumpy Patches On Elbow?

I have this gross red bumpy patch on my elbow. It started off as a cut, then grew and had yellow puss at times. The wound grew, and covered my whole elbow. It is now "healed", but It's bumpy, red, itchy, and sometimes gets dry and gets "ashy" ? Can you explain what this is?
