What Causes Red Spots On Face, Shoulder And Forearm Which Changes Size With Time?

MY 15 month old daughter has a red spot on her face, shoulder and forearm. At 7am today, they were smaller than an eraser on a pencil. As of 5pm (same day) they are in between dime and nickel size. The spots are raised, but do not come to a 'head'. Any idea what this may be?
