What Causes Severe Pain In Back And Arms?

I was involved in a bus crash recently. I was checked out at emergency, however it happened in the USA and I am Canadian, so was brought back to Canada the next day. I was taken to the hospital with severe back pain on the right side just under my arm. Exrays were done and nothing showed up, it is now almost 2 weeks later and I still have severe pain when lifting my arm, or trying to lift anything with my right arm. I have been on muscle relazants, anti inflamitories and pain killers pretty well 2 weeks and not getting very good results. I have seen my doctor and she just keeps giving me differnt pills.. should I be concerned? I am also not having bowel movements very often and terrible hot flashes, not like the kind I get with menopause, I get wet palms and face with these flashes, they happen about once every half hour. My doctor said it is just my age and nothing to do with the drugs or the accident... however I am well into menopause and have been having flashes for about 4 years and they have never felt like this. Any advice you could give me would be great.
