What Causes Sharp Pain On My Right Side Near To Lower Rib?

I have a very sharp pain on my right side near my lower rib. I tried to crack my back and I got a very sharp pain in my side that almost felt like my insides were trying to push thru my ribs and I got a cramp and it stayed that way for several seconds, and it hurt SO bad. I got a small bruise under my rib on my right side and it hurts now to cough or laugh or bend over. I went to try to drive earlier and I could hardly take he car turning to the right... I don t like going to a doctors office or anything and I want to know if this is serious or is there something I can do here at home to help the pain go away and be able to move.
