What Causes Small Cysts In The Cervix?

I m kind of embarrassed to ask this but I just did my annual exam with my GYN. She found several small, benign nabothian (sp?) cysts on the cervix. I m 40 years old and never had any other issues before: always a clean health report. I ve recently been using various things around the house to masturbate. Could that account for the cysts? She says they are harmless. I m just wondering if I may have caused them by using my hair brush, or cooking tools to deal with my libido. Thanks.
