What Causes Small Splinter Points Around Knuckle Of The Middle Finger?

Several small splinter points around main first knuckle of middle finger on left hand. Fell on a burr while cutting Xmas tree. Causing swelling a pain on and off for the past week. Splinters are small hard to see and embedded well. Restricting movement in entire hand. Not sure how to address it
