What Causes Sore Breasts?

My mum told me she had a sore rash on her breasts and she went to the doctors. She got give augmentin tablets but they didn't work. She went to the hospital and she won't tell me what's wrong and I am really worried. She said her breasts are really sore. Is it cancer? I'm really scared!
