What Causes Unusual Bleeding Apart From Periods

Hi my period was off for like a week, then I had mild cramps and when I went to the bathroom there was blood. Its never heavy and I mostly see it when I use the bathroom and wipe myself. Its also still are red color sometimes brownish. What is this? Should I be concerned?
