I was diagnosed with YI. My OBGYN prescribed me one Diflucan pill. It got better the next 2 days, but the 3rd day after taking it; the symptoms came back. It itched even more than when I first went to see the doctor. So, I ran to PX to get OTC, called Monistat1 Ovule set that came with the cream. The next day, it was burning, and itching even worse. I thought I have allergic reaction with the Monistat1. I couldn t work, just hiding in my room applying ice packs to make that area numb. I went back to see the same doctor because my clitoris was burning and swollen so much; my vulva s still very itched. The doctor examined and said that I had severe YI and my clitoris was looking normal even though I could feel it s swollen badly. So, she prescribed me 2 more pills of Diflucan. After taking the 2nd dose, it was not better; I emailed to ask her if there s anything to relief the itches and burning since I used all kind of creams, but it got worse. She said I used too many creams. She advised me to take allergy pills like Benadryl or Claratin. I felt better right away, but I developed rashes on my buttocks, later on my back and now on my legs for almost 3 weeks after first dose of allergy pill. I m still on allergy pills average 5 times a week whenever the rashes and itches come back. Recently, the rashes are on my legs, but it got better each week. I found out that after intercourse, the next day my vagina got itch and a bit of burning feeling too. I now wear loose clothing, cotton underwear, taking pro-bio-tic everyday. Am I having menopause hormone issues that cause the vaginal dryness or thining? Please help me.
