What Causes Vaginal Itching And Thrush?

Hi i have noticed that every couple of months i get a really itchy irritable vagina almost like i have thrush but it also feels slightly inflammed and very dry. Can u advice me what it may be because i have it now and i took a thrush pill yesturday and its still very itchy tonight.
