What Could Cause Bloody Navel Discharge?

In the past four or so years, I have had several occurrences of discharge from my navel, usually very bloody, but also very foul smelling, and almost reminiscent of fecal material mixed with blood. This has happened approximately 3-4 times a year, and after a trip to a local walk-in clinic (which I *won't* return to again for various reasons), I was told (after minimal examination) that it was just a yeast or bacterial infection, and to clean it well with alcohol, and make sure to dry it very well. This seemed to make sense, as such a treatment usually results in the condition clearing up within a few days. Yesterday, however, I noticed some pain/tenderness right at the top of my belly button, but no outward signs or discharge. Today, when I woke up, the pain was increased. The pain is almost more of a "pinching"/"burning" type of pain, and with increased pain upon bending over, or applying pressure to the area. I also noticed that there seemed to be a slightly firm lump, not visible on the surface of my abdomen, but palpable with pressure. Approximately 3 hours or so, I noticed that there was again a discharge, with some clear to yellow fluid, almost reminiscent of urine, as well as some blood, and dark, grainy material. I have an appointment with my new family physician in the morning, as I was concerned about the possibility of it being an umbilical hernia. At any rate, as I now type this, the pain has increased even more (maybe a 5-6 on a 1-10 scale), and I am now having extremely copious discharge of bloody pus...copious to the degree that I could actually see the level of pus in my navel rising, filling my navel completely in just a minute or two. Obviously the pus indicates infection of some sort, but the thing that concerns me the most is the amount/rate of discharge, particularly since there is blood mixed in. Is it likely that I will be okay until my appointment (in approximately 14 hours), or should I go to the emergency room?
