What Does A Painful Bump With Redness Around It Indicate?

A bump with what looked like a white head started to appear, it itched really bad but wasn't able to pop. The next day I woke up And it was an intense pain around the areA and also a red circle surrounding it, I tried popping it, but it wouldn't pop. Probably because it hurt so bad I couldn't get anything near it, later that night it popped on its own and pus came, kind of thick, clear and had a slight red tint. I know noticed it has a black dot in the middle, while the other is scabbed over. It doesn't hurt anymore, since it was popped. Is this something I should see a doctor for?
