What Does A Small Fluid Filled Bump On Palm Indicate?

My son had a small bump on palm just below his pinky for awhile. I just looked at it a few minutes ago and it was big, raised like a blister. When I popped it, carefully I course, white stuff came out. Not clear, white. Have never seen that before, what in the worrld?!
