What Does A Sore And Red Bump In Groin Area Indicate?

I have a sore on my groin that is red, purple and raised over like a bump now. It's been there since June. Could that be a swollen lymph node? I was diagnosed with non hodgkins lymphoma last April and have been doing pre cautionary treatments since Feb. 2012. and in Aug. 2012.
