What Does Multiple Follicles Within The Ovaries Mean?

I have had an MRI done for ongoing hip pain that no one seems to know why?. The report came back and one of the things it said was : There is an area of well defined low signal focus within the iliac bone 3.7cm superior to the acetabulum. This measures 0.64cm in diameter and is most in keeping with a benign bone island. The uterus is somewhat bulky without evidence of a focal lesion. There are multiple simple follicles within the bilateral ovaries with the largest on the right measuring 1.6cm in diameter . Can you please explain what this means? Karen
