What Does Pain Around Chest Area In Case Of Broken Collarbone Indicate?

I'm 40 5'3" 190. I severly broke my collar bone in 2 places a month ago. I'm suppose to have surgery soon. But i'm having very very sharp pains like someone is stabbing me in the chest with a HOT knife, sending pain up my neck to my ear, it also feels like something cold & wet is running down the front of my chest. The pain gets so intense that I can barely stand it, can't remember when I slept last. My shoulder & arms numb to the touch down to my elbow. Should I be worried & go to the hospital or is it to be expected?
