What Does The Bruise Mean?

Yes. i was talking with a lady at work that works for me, and she recieved a phone call from her granddaughter whose leg was bothering her for two weeks. she works out alot and so she went to the er. the er sent her to the specialitst (bone dr) and she ordered and MRI. she calle back today to say they found a bruise on her femur and a break on complete break or seperatate maybe a hairline break in the top of the tibia. My coworker is wondering how she could have walked that long and worked out with a break and what does the bruise on the femur mean. and they arnt casting it, just immobilizing the leg.What does the bruise mean, is that related to the break, and she doesnt remember doing anything, and theres on bruise on the superficial skin surface.?
