What Is The Cause For Itchiness And Swelling In The Right Hand?

Yesterday, my right hand started to itch. I assumed it was a mosquito bite. However the itching was extremely bad all night and when I woke up, my whole right hand was swollen and has increased up my arm to my elbow. I have tried taking an antihistamine, as well as have been spraying the whole area with benadryl. I also iced it during my lunch hour. Nothing seems to have helped.
