What Is The Cause Of Spotting?

Hi, I have had spotting now for about 3 weeks. I did 3 urine pregnancy tests but all were negative, I have had a blood test but don't get the results till next week. I'm usually fairly regular with my period. I am over weight, however have lost 9 kilos in 9 weeks.
