What Is The Treatment For Stabbing Pain In Groin Area?

Intermittent stabbing pain in left hand groin area. Comes on from time to time and will stop me from walking for a few minutes until pain subsides. Sometimes I get pain in night. Also the inner thigh tendon feels stiffer on this side. No injury I can think off and no lump so don t think it is a hernia. Did have achy buttocks a few weeks ago but that has gone now.
