What To Do For The Heavy Periods?

I am 40 years old. Height 5 ft 3 inches. Weight 57kg. I am healthy and no medical history. I get heavy menstruation every 25-28 days. I am fed up with it. I feel it is a curse to women. Can I use Ovral L permanently to get my periods once in two/three months atleast?
