Why Am I Having Period Twice In A Month?

Hi, i was told by a GP doctor to take Norethisterone after my periods was ten days late and when it finally came it was heavy than usual. my period was two weeks ago and i finish the Norethisterone three days ago and my period started again today after fourteen days. please advice if this is normal..Thanks
