Brief Answer:
Safe after around 4 weeks of grommet insertion

Detailed Answer:
Hi,thank you for posting your query on health care magic.

Your daughter is going to have grommet inserted in ear drum. The reason for grommet insertion might be glue in the ear as the middle ear pressure is not able to remain equal with the outside atmospheric pressure due to blockage in Eustachian tube(a tube which connects middle ear and nose and is responsible for equalization of middle ear pressure with outside atmospheric pressure).

After insertion of grommet,it helps in equalization of middle ear pressure with the outside atmospheric pressure.

After insertion of grommet, middle ear pressure starts getting equalized to outside atmospheric pressure. In few kids, the glue in the middle ear takes some time to get clear and middle ear mucosal lining may take upto 4 weeks to heal.

Flying is less likely to cause discomfort in a child with grommets in their ear. A grommet allows air in and out of the ear, reducing the stress on the eardrum caused by changes in air pressure in the plane.

It would be advisable to fly after around 4 weeks after grommet insertion in ears.
