3 1/2 Weeks Ago I Fell And Cut My Forehead.

3 1/2 weeks ago I fell and cut my forehead. I received 3 internal stitches and external stitches in the ER. The stitches have been removed, but I had a lot of swelling underneath the cut. I drained the swelling myself through an opening in the original wound about 2 weeks after the fall. More swelling occurred and plastic surgeon drained it about a week later, and put a compression bandage on with instructions to leave on for 72 hours. I removed the bandage and the swelling seems better, but now I am concerned it will fill up again... should I ice or heat it? should I keep a compression head band on it? is there any medication or suggestion that can prevent it from swelling up again? I do not see the plastic surgeon again until next week.
