Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
30 years ago my daughter fell from a horse and landed on her tail bone. A few hours later her head began to jerk. One doctor said it could be a spinal concussion but had no answer. Three neurologists said it was a genetic condition though there was no history. A chiropractor became interested in it and did some research as he was concerned about doing any manipulation. The jerk didn't always occur but would come and go throughout the day. He learned that botox might work and suggested it to doctor who specialized in movement disorders, and, at a loss for any other solution, decided to try it by injecting several vials into the affected muscles in neck. It worked for some 30 years. But he warned that it might eventually become ineffective. That appears to be the case now. She is 48. It isn't a disease and we strongly believe it was something caused she she fell. What kind of doctor do we need who can use new technology to try to determine a more permanent solution (or recommend a new treatment).
